Yes. For solar and battery installations, Pro-Fit Green Energy Ltd is Flexi-Orb certified (certificate CCS-FLX-0001) and a member of HIES, the consumer code for home energy installers (membership PGE/A/1843). Your deposit and guarantee are protected through IWA.
Yes. A deposit is only taken once you have accepted your written quote, and it is protected through IWA. The balance is due when your installation is complete.

Prices
So you can see what a system costs before anyone visits your home. Our guide prices are the same figures we use in our quotes, and your exact price is confirmed in writing after a free survey.
Only if your survey finds something that is not standard, such as a roof repair, awkward access or a fuse board that needs upgrading. Anything extra is itemised on your quote with its own price, before you agree to anything. Once your quote is issued, the price is fixed.
Guide prices cover a standard pitched roof in good condition with straightforward access. Extras that can apply are roof repairs, non-standard access such as a conservatory or road licence, a fuse board upgrade, tree work to reduce shading, and structural work. Your survey confirms whether any apply, and each is priced separately.
Yes. We will match any like-for-like written quote from another accredited installer: same panels, battery size, inverter type and access included. Send it over and we will go through it with you line by line. Sometimes we can offer a better specification for a similar price instead.
The survey
Your roof (size, angle, direction and shading), your loft, your fuse board and the access for scaffolding. They also agree the best place for your inverter and battery. The aim is to confirm exactly what will fit, so your quote is accurate.
About an hour for most homes. A little longer for larger or more complex roofs.
No. The survey is free and there is no obligation.
No. You receive a written quote listing your equipment and your fixed price, and it is held for 14 days so you have time to consider it.
If you go ahead, you also have a 14 day right to cancel from the day your contract is agreed, with a full refund. Full details are on our terms page.
Savings
It depends on your roof, how your household uses electricity and your tariff, so we do not give a savings figure before a survey. After your survey, we calculate your expected savings using the standard industry method, with every assumption written down so you can check it. If anything does not match how you live, tell us and we will update it.
Payback depends on your savings figure, so it follows the same approach. You will receive it after your survey, with the assumptions behind it clearly set out.
The installation
Usually one to two days on site for most homes. Scaffolding goes up the working day before and comes down after. Your quote confirms the dates for your installation.
Yes, for any roof work. Standard scaffolding is included in your price. If your property needs extra access, such as bridging a conservatory or a road licence, it is shown as a separate line on your quote.
For a short time, yes. Your electricity needs to be switched off while the new system is connected to your fuse board. It is planned in advance, well short of a full day, and our team will let you know before it happens.
Someone needs to be home to give us access to the loft and fuse board, and for the handover at the end, when we take you through the system and set it up around your tariff. You do not need to be home for the roof work itself.
Tiles are lifted only where the mounting brackets go. The brackets are fixed securely to the roof timbers and photographed for certification, then the tiles are refitted so your roof is weathertight before the panels go on. If we break a tile, we replace it at our cost.
Light rain does not stop work. If wind, ice or heavy weather makes roof work unsafe, we pause and agree a new date with you. Indoor work, such as fitting the inverter and battery, can often carry on.
After installation
We do, and both are included in your price. We register your installation with Flexi-Orb so your installation certificate is issued, and we notify your local grid operator that your system is connected.
Keep your handover pack somewhere safe. Your certificate is needed to apply for export payments, and a buyer's solicitor will ask for it if you sell your home.
By applying to an energy supplier for an export tariff. It does not have to be the supplier you buy from, and rates vary, so it is worth comparing. You will need your Flexi-Orb installation certificate and meter details, both in your handover pack, and we will help you register.

Your installation is covered by our 2 year workmanship warranty, plus separate manufacturer warranties on your panels, inverter and battery, all set out in your quote. If you are ever unhappy with how a complaint is handled, the escalation route is on our terms page.
Yes. Every system we install uses a hybrid inverter that is battery-ready from day one, so a battery can be added later without replacing it.
A standard system switches off during a power cut for safety. If you would like key circuits to keep running, backup power can be added, and your surveyor will specify and price it.
VAT and air conditioning
Yes. Qualifying home solar and battery installations currently have 0% VAT, and every price on our site already includes it. 0% VAT ends 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027 the rate returns to 5%, which adds around £505 to a 10 panel system with a 12kWh battery.
Reversible air conditioning, permanently fixed in your home, currently qualifies for 0% VAT on the same basis, ending 31 March 2027. Cooling-only and portable units do not qualify. Prices start from £1,350 for a single room, installed.
